Shift Shop – Strength 35 Review

This is my review of a workout called Strength 35 from Beachbody’s latest program called Shift Shop.
In week 2 of the program you move from 25 minute workouts to 35 minute ones. This obviously increases the intensity of the workouts and the moves change as well.
In this workout there is a warmup and cooldown. There are 10 moves you will do twice – 2 rounds. The first round has 60 second exercises and the second round you move to 45 second durations on each.
Picking the proper weights will take a few times through as I used 15, 20, 25 and 30lb dumbells my first time through.
Most of the moves are combination moves meaning you will target more than one body part. As an example the first move you do a dumbell curl, then squat and then an overhead press. So that hits your biceps, legs and shoulders. The exercises include:
- Curl Squat Press
- Pulsing Lunges
- Pushup rows
- Side Lunge Upright Rows
- Figure 4 Bridge
- Staggered Row
- Pull Plank Flys
- Sumo Circle
- Hungry Bear
- Flying Lunges
I felt this in my shoulders the most with little in the triceps, biceps or chest. If you like lifting and want to add some more in, you can do some lifting after the workouts. I for example will do 3-5 sets of curls one day, then bench presses, then some tricep work, etc.
Overall a solid full body workout and I burnt 400 calories with my heart rate maxing at 167 and averaging 133. So not a heart pumper but solid resistance workout if you pick good weights.
Let me know what you think.
